On Tuesday, the STF- Special Task Force of Odisha Crime Branch department has seized brown sugar in the capital city Bhubaneswar. The expected cost of the seized brown sugar is Rs. 1 crore. Besides, in this connection, the STF has also arrested two drug peddlers.
As per the report, the STF got a tip-off, and after that, a team of the STF swung into action and managed to seize brown sugar from Bhubaneswar’s Khandagiri area and arrested two persons. Besides, the STF has seized a motorcycle and the contraband. As per the sources, they are the residents of Khurdha area.
As per the latest report, the Crime Branch is now interrogating the duo to know the involvement of any other persons in the trade.
It may be noted that recently, on 31st May 2020, the Central Excise Intelligence department seized 81 grams of brown sugar with Rs. 8 lakh cash and arrested two persons in Bhadrak, Odisha. As per the report, they were involved in narcotics trade in Bhadrak as well as Jajpur district.
