Pratikshya- The Wait Continues!

Ollywood continues to be in the race for entertainment by focusing on movies and OTT web series with value addition to society. The movie creators are trying to uplift the scenario of Odia cinemas taking a higher stake. The production, direction and storyline have completely changed in recent times. The accessibility to movies is not limited in the modern world with the advancement of technology. A blockbuster movie like ‘Daman’ and Odia’s best OTT Gangs of puri’ Ollywood, is all set to release its upcoming movie ‘Pratikshya.’

Worldwide Fame

Before its release, it buzzed worldwide by bagging the best story award at the Washington DC South Asian Film festival. The south Asian film festival is the largest film premiere destination for filmmakers. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting South Asian Indian filmmakers to increase their reach and visibility and increase audiences’ footfall. Anupam Patnaik directs the milestone. It is a story inspired by Sarala Puraskar-winning author Gaurahari Das and a true incident. It was also selected to be screened in the Indian Panorama Selection of the 53rd International Film Festival of India, which was held in Goa.

Pratikshya-The Film

The featured film Pratikshya narrates the story of an ambitious boy from an ordinary middle-class background and his struggle to achieve his goals and obligations. The film seems to string the hearts of the audience as its trailer depicts. The worldwide fame has enhanced the wait for the movie. It has become the talk of the town and has drawn the public’s attention.

It is shot in the locations of Bhubaneswar, and its cast includes Dipanwit Dasmohapatra, Jayprakash Das, Barsha Patnaik, Sreela Tripathy, Roopambika Nayak, Sushil Mishra, Abakash Mishra and a special appearance of Sidhant Mohapatra.

The songs of the movies are also drooling and fascinated more audiences towards it, composed by duo Rakesh Anand and Ashish Pradhan. The lyrics have been penned by Durga Madhab Panda and Priyaranjan Sahoo and submit Panda. The release date has been announced on the 2nd of December,2022. The veteran editor late Deven Mishra’s last feature film was Pratikshya.

The maker of the film Anupam Patnaik mentioned that the movie would be quite relatable and emotional. He is also happy with the work done by his team.

The wait for the movie continues, and the audiences are all set to hit the theatres upon the movie’s release.
