The ballot box for the presidential election has arrived Odisha assembly to collect the ballot papers for the Presidential candidate. The Presidential election is to be held on July 18, and the results will be declared on July 21.
Two of the poll officers from the Parliament, New Delhi, brought the ballot box. The poll officers landed at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar, where State Reserved Police Forces guided them amid tight security. The poll officers visit state assemblies of the country to collect ballot papers, respectively.

Ahead of the contest between the NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu and the UPA candidate Yashwant Sinha will be running for the 2022 July 18 Presidential election against the incumbent President Ramnath Kovind.
The NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu hails from Odisha and has been a part of many political movements in the state with the Biju Patnaik party. Draupadi Murmu worked for women’s rights and against domestic violence and emerged as a powerful leader and a prominent public figure of that time.
She was appointed as the ninth Governor of Jharkhand in 2015 and set a landmark by becoming the first female Governor of the state.
In June 2022, the BJP nominated Draupadi Murmu as the National Democratic Alliance‘s candidate for President of India for the 2022 election.
All National Democratic Alliance partners pledged their support for Murmu. Also, the country-wide non-BJP ruled parties like Biju Janata Dal, YSR Congress Party, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Janata Dal (Secular), Bahujan Samaj Party, Telugu Desam Party and Shiromani Akali Dal pledged their support to Murmu.
Way Forward
Murmu is busy these days visiting state assemblies for her Presidential rally. Recently, she has been visiting Karnataka and Maharashtra to seek support from them.
The state assemblies have submitted their ballot paper before the election, and the country is eyeing the big day, July 21, the results will be declared.
