How did you first get started as an influencer? What motivated you to pursue this career path?
From my college days, I always wanted to create content, whether it may be dance videos, funny videos, or some short story, but I was not able to make it. During the 2020 lockdown, I randomly uploaded misheard lyrics content, and my friends appreciated me. Their appreciation gave me confidence, and I started making content. 3 things motivate me to create content: 1. My audience’s love and support. 2. My love for content creation 3. Support from my family and friends.
What niche or topics do you primarily focus on as an influencer, and why did you choose that area?
I make comic content(comedy sketches, misheard lyrics, etc) and sometimes emotional content/ content with a social message. But apart from that, I also put dance videos, and recently, I have been trying my luck in fashion blogging. I usually pick topics which is very relatable and which also can be understood by people staying outside of Odisha. I choose topics where I can spread our odishaOdisha’s culture to other states. Also, I make emotional videos with a strong social message, and I believe that’s one of my responsibility as an influencer/creator.
Could you share some of the biggest challenges you faced as an influencer? How did you overcome them?
The biggest challenge I have been facing till now is managing my work life, content creation, and period life. Even I have taken multiple breaks for this, which has drastically impacted my account reach.
This has degraded my health and affected my relationships with my friends and family and my social relationship with my followers for not giving much time to social media. But now, somehow, I am managing all of them. I don’t have any answer on how I am managing, but I am just trying my best.
What strategies do you use to engage and connect with your audience? How do you maintain their interest and loyalty?
I observe which type of content they like, and I usually post more such videos. Also, I am experimenting with my style and genre; if my audience likes it, I will make more such videos. I chat with my followers about their choice and also if they have suggestions.
Can you share a memorable experience or campaign you’ve worked on with a brand? What made it successful or rewarding for you?
I worked with Satyasubham from one design for a restaurant brand, ‘The district high,’ And the entire campaign plan we collaboratively discussed and exchanged our ideas. The reel came out so good, reaching audiences more than expected. It was a super successful campaign. Probably the best campaign I have worked on till now.
What advice would you give aspiring influencers just starting their journey?
Just keep making content, don’t stop. There will be N number of times when you will feel you can’t make it or it’s not your thing but learn from mistakes or learn from other creators and start again from scratch but never stop.
