The American tech company Apple reportedly canceled its upcoming March 31 event. According to recent reports, the outbreak of coronavirus is the sole reason behind the development. Unlike other years, Apple was planning to launch several big products, like iPhone SE 2, on the 31st event.
Apple planned to launch several Apple products and services in the month-end event. Among all, the upcoming iPhone SE2 created the biggest buzz. Besides, Apple was planning to announce the latest generation iPad Pro in the March 31st event.
Santa Clara city recently banned all kinds of mass gatherings in the region to prevent the outbreak of coronavirus.
On the other hand, the chances are high that Apple might go with a press release for the product announcement. But, now it is certain that the availability of the upcoming SE 2, which also known as iPhone 9 or iPhone, will be delayed by months. The upcoming iPhone 9 will have iPhone 11 hardware and iPhone 8 design.
iPhone 12 might not Come in Time as Well
The effect of coronavirus can be seen in the production of the upcoming iPhone 12 Series as well. Recently, Apple put restrictions on its engineers to travel to Asia. The development will result in further delay in the production of the next-generation iPhones.
Like most of the tech companies, China is the manufacturing hub for Apple as well. Currently, the company is developing its next generation 5G iPhones in the country. The engineers supposed to come to China to verify these 5G iPhones. But, recently, Apple is not allowing any of its engineers to visit Asia before the end of April.
Previously, Apple revealed that its revenue for the ongoing quarter is going to be less than the initial expectation. The company further revealed that the effects of coronavirus would restrict the global phone supply.
