Recently at Young India Face, we decided to have a conversation with him and learn his mantra for success. Odisha and young India face are always proud of this young boy for his positive influence on people.
Let’s have a look what is his views:
How did you first get started as an influencer? What motivated you to pursue this career path?
- I have been into drama since my childhood. I’ve performed various stage shows. I also represented my school in various states.
- I have been very camera friendly and good at expressions since my childhood. So I had that desire to do something related to acting, camera and media when I grew up.
- With time, I got myself very much into social media, memes and concept visualization.
- I wanted to make content in my Odia language, which can show my content creation skills as well as can promote our Odia style, accent and vibes.
What niche or topics do you primarily focus on as an influencer, and why did you choose that particular area?
I keep it versatile. Funny, relatable, emotional and sometimes sensitive content. I maintain a ratio of purely Odia-centric content and generic audience content. The Odia-centric contents are major in unique Odia translations and our raw and unique accents.
Being in my creative zone, I visualize from all perspectives. Try to make people acknowledge that I can fit into all emotions. But yes, the major niche is funny.
Could you share some of the biggest challenges you faced during your journey as an influencer? How did you overcome them?
– I started my journey on Feb 12, 2022. As I was a working professional, I always had the limitation of time. Skipping meals and fewer hours of sleep became normal.
– When I started my journey, getting the shoot and edit done was my biggest challenge because I had a broken phone of no use. It was 6 years old and had slow processing; apps got shut down very instantly, the camera didn’t work, and it was that useless. Also, I wasn’t that financially able to buy a new phone. So I always had to fetch the mobile of my office colleagues and my local friends, and even I used my company founder’s phone for the shoot. I used to bother them till late at night for the shoot. And then, I used to go to their home in the morning from 6-7 to edit those videos on their phone because I had to upload them at 9 am. I used to feel very bad because I always used to bother someone.
– Social media engagement was very important for me. During lunch breaks and tea breaks, everyone used to gossip and chill. But I sit alone and respond to all the messages and comments. And, of course, at night, I stay busy with shoots and all, so gradually, I lost all my friends and relationship because I became very stubborn to invest all my time in either thinking/visualizing concepts or shooting or editing.
– I used to get taunts from my family members, and being an aggressive kid, I always fought and shouted, which frequently kept disturbing my mental peace.
What strategies do you use to engage and connect with your audience? How do you maintain their interest and loyalty?
– I always try to stay connected with all my followers as much as possible. I respond to all the comments, messages and story shares. There wouldn’t be any appreciation message that would be left unreplied.
– I try to keep my content and act very naturally, raw, and happening. I have made videos on purely Odia accents, Odia style and Odia translations in a sarcastic way. Many Odia people loved those.
– I never make them feel that I’m a star and all. I’m just one of those who has big dreams
Can you share a memorable experience or campaign you’ve worked on with a brand? What made it successful or rewarding for you?
I had worked with Biggies Burger, and my collaboration video got 8million+ views. Another collaboration video was with a brand named Gropharm, which went 2million+. The character in that video soon became the talk of the town as it was loved by many.
What advice would you give aspiring influencers just starting their journey?
– Apart from Concept, focus more on how to frame it, I mean its screenplay and editing.
– Learn the social media algorithm
– Create videos that can hit rural audience and urban audiences both
– Consistency is the key
