According to the Regional Meteorological Department, Odisha receives heavy rainfall, along with other 21 districts, which may receive intense thundering and lightning.

The MET department predicted heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Khurda, Puri, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput and Malkangiri.
Thunderstorms with lightning are most likely to occur in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsingpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, and Ganjam.
The monsoon has covered the whole land of Odisha this year. Favorable rainfall and a good amount of sunlight are predicted, proving good for the farmer’s crops.
The MET department has released a yellow warning for the districts where ample rainfall may occur.
Way Forward
Under the influence of southerly or southwesterly monsoon winds from the Bay of Bengal, most places of Odisha are expected to receive heavy rainfall in many districts of the state.
Violent wind speed of 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph will likely land Odisha and touch the coast on June 22. The IMD advises fishermen not to venture into the sea
