Apple is Becoming a Threat for Companies like Sony and Bose

Companies like Bose and Sony are dominating the audio products segment for years. In 2015, Apple entered the market with its AirPods series, and the rest is history. Apple AirPods are extremely popular products, and Apple gathered a huge revenue from it. Currently, Apple ranks number one in the truly wireless market. Watching Apple’s success, many other manufacturers also launched similar products at the recent CES 2020.

Previously, reports suggested that Apple is planning to sell as many as a whopping 100 million wireless headphones in 2020. Therefore, it is clear that the rest of the competitors are only fighting for the second spot.

Apple’s Upcoming Over-The-Ear Headphone

According to the recent report, Apple is currently working on its over-the-ear headphones. The leaked iOS 14 code confirms the development. It suggests that Apple is planning to launch its headphones in two color variants, dark and light. Ming Chi-Kuo, the famous Apple analyst, also confirms the recent report. He is claiming that the company will name it as AirPods X. If Apple starts producing its AirPods X, it will pose a direct threat to the existing industry leaders like Bose and Sony.

AirPods Pro Lite

Another separate report claims that after the success of AirPods Pro, Apple is planning to launch its Lite version. As the name suggests, the AirPods Pro Lite is going to be a toned-down variant of the highly successful AirPods Pro.

In recent times, multiple manufacturers like Lenovo, Realme, and Oppo, are trying out their lucks in the wireless earbuds segment. The best part is these products are affordable, which is not in the case with Apple. But, if Apple releases a Lite version of AirPod Pro, it will be interesting to see how people will react to it.

However, Apple’s growing interest in the audio products segment is enough for Bose and Sony to worry about.
