IIT Student dies after falling from the 5th floor of college adminstration building

On late Tuesday night, an IIT Bhubaneswar student, named Kritika Raj died after falling from the fifth floor of the administration building. Her body is currently in the capital hospital.

Kritika Raj, a B. A tech student at IIT Bhubaneswar allegedly committed suicide late Tuesday night by jumping from the fifth floor of the college administration building. After she fell, students and security guards gathered in the place to hear the sound. Immediately, she was taken to the health centre of IIT Bhubaneswar and then to the capital hospital. Upon arrival, doctors declared her dead.

The authorities immediately informed the police. A team of professional forensic experts and police officers came to investigate the matter. From the primary investigation, they are leaning towards suicide. However, the reason behind the suicide is still not known.

While interrogating her friends, family members and teachers, police found out that she had recently returned from her hometown. According to the authorities, “Yesterday at around 11 pm, a student fell from the fifth floor of the administration building which houses the library. The police were informed immediately and are investigating the case.”

What could be the reason?

Although the real reason is still unknown, police officials are suspecting it as a suicide. According to sources, after coming back from her hometown, she has been quiet. She has remained silent and didn’t talk to her friends after coming back. This indicates that she might be going through something in her life. However, the family sources said that she has gone to her hometown for six months for a break and recently joined classes in August. It is disheartening to see a 23-year-old girl committing suicide.

While career, reputed colleges and degrees are important, nothing can be more precious than life itself. At 23 years of age, life hasn’t even fully started. So, deciding to end it because of mental stress and tension is sad.
